A man, whose identity and reputation revolved around his humbleness and kind nature, more than his success and net worth– died at the age of 86 in 2024. Today, October 09, 2025, marks his first death anniversary, which naturally left the country emotional again. From remembering him and his heart-winning decisions and actions that he took his entire life to paying tribute, the internet has been witnessing many reactions today. October 09, 2024:

It was last year on this day when Ratan Tata passed away. He was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai on October 7, 2024. Reportedly, he was admitted due to age-related issues, along with issues with his blood pressure. However, sadly, the man passed away at the age of 86. His final rites were performed with full state honours at a central Mumbai crematorium on October 10, 2024, in the evening. He was also given a gun salute by the Mumbai Police.

Last year, an emotional picture went viral, which showed a stray dog peacefully sleeping at the entrance of one of the most luxurious hotels in the country; the Taj Mahal Hotel. Turns out, it was Ratan Tata’s instructions to let the strays rest.

Missed A Prestigious Award For His Ill Pet

In 2018, the animal lover chose to miss the prestigious British Asian Trust Lifetime Achievement Award at Buckingham Palace, as he decided to stay with his critically ill pet instead. One of his pets, Tango and Tito, was ill at the time, whereas he was supposed to receive the award from then-Prince Charles.
