What is the story about?
The wait is finally over. Rishab Shetty's Kantara is returning with a prequel titled Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1. Directed by and starring Shetty, the Kannada-language mythological action drama film is all set to release globally on October 2, around three years after the 2022 hit Kantara.
Ever since the prequel film was announced, anticipation has been high among audiences. And adding to that buzz, the makers of the film released the official trailer on Monday, September 22. Hombale Films took to X to share the YouTube link of the newly launched trailer of the film.
“A saga of folklore, faith, and fire, born from our soil. Presenting the #KantaraChapter1Trailer to you all. Witness the divine spectacle in theatres worldwide on October 2nd, 2025,” it wrote.
The trailer teases a narrative rich in folklore and faith, blending mythology and spirituality into a cinematic spectacle.
The two-minute-56-second video shows Shetty in a powerful, commanding attitude, with his trident-wielding moment standing out as a highlight.
The film provides a sensory experience entrenched in tradition and amplified by emotional intensity with its rural setting, arresting sights, and evocative score.
It introduces Gulshan Devaiah as King Kulashekara, a brutal ruler who is unaware of the forest's deadly mystery.
Earlier, the makers announced the wrap-up, marking the culmination of a remarkable journey that included over 250 shoot days.
“Wrap Up… The Journey Begins.
