The penultimate trading day of the week brings you the first results of the Nifty 50 constituents for the September quarter. India's largest IT services company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), will be reporting results after market closing hours today, thereby kick-starting proceedings for the Q2 earnings season.

Along with TCS, Tata Elxsi and GM Breweries will also be reporting their results. So far, this week, the Nifty index managed to defend the 25,000 mark courtesy of the IT stocks, which were the only sectoral gainers.

Today is also the weekly options expiry of all BSE contracts. Today's session will also see reactions to business updates from companies like Senco Gold, Prestige Estates among others. Another IPO opens for subscription with Canara Robeco AMC, while LG Electronics India will close for subscription today.
