NSE, Tata Memorial Centre join hands to build India’s largest bone marrow transplant facility

The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, has partnered with the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) to build a new 11-storey Multispecialty Hospital Block and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Centre at the ACTREC campus in Navi Mumbai.

The bhoomi pujan ceremony for the project was held on Sunday.

The new hospital will be one of the largest cancer care facilities in the country, with a 60-bed Bone Marrow Transplant Centre — the biggest in India and among the largest in South Asia.

The project, covering 2.4 lakh sq. ft., will be built by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) at a cost of ₹380 crore and is expected to be ready by July 2027, BSE said in a statement.

Once completed, the centre will treat around 1.3 lakh outpatients every year and perform over 600 bone marrow transplants annually, offering care free or at very low cost to patients in need.

ACTREC, established by the Tata Memorial Centre, an autonomous institution under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India, has been a pioneer in providing affordable cancer care and advanced treatment to patients from across the country.

Apart from serving as a Bone Marrow Transplant Centre, the new hospital block will also function as an Out-Patient Department (OPD) unit for the entire ACTREC campus, where three additional buildings are planned for cancer treatment and research.

The project received final environmental clearance on September 11 and a construction commencement certificate from CIDCO on October 1.
