Vodafone Idea on Friday, October 03, announced the appointment of Tejas Mehta as its new Chief Financial Officer and key managerial personnel, effective October 6, 2025. He succeeds Murthy Gvas, whose
tenure as CFO ends on October 5.
The appointment was approved by the company’s Board of Directors based on the recommendations of the Audit Committee and the Nomination & Remuneration Committee.
Mehta, 49, joins Vodafone Idea from Mondelez India, where he served as CFO. A Chartered Accountant (1997) with more than 25 years of experience across Indian and international markets, he has held several senior leadership roles in finance, supply chain, and transformation projects.
He began his career with Marico Industries before moving to Mondelez India in 2002 as Treasury Manager. Over two decades with the company, he worked in global roles including Group Finance Controller in London, CFO in Thailand and Turkey, and Supply Chain Management leader for Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa. He returned to India in 2022 as CFO of Mondelez India, where he steered the company through sectoral volatility and inflationary pressures, while driving business growth and operational excellence.
The appointment comes shortly after leadership changes at Vodafone Idea, with Abhijit Kishore replacing CEO Akshaya Moondra in August upon completion of his term.
