Bajaj Electricals to acquire Morphy Richards brand rights for ₹146 cr across South Asia
Bajaj Electricals Ltd (BEL) has cleared a proposal to acquire the Morphy Richards brand and related intellectual property rights from Ireland’s Glen Electric, part of the Glen Dimplex Group, for ₹146 crore.
The deal will cover rights to the brand in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Maldives and Sri Lanka, giving BEL complete control over a premium name it has been associated with for over two decades. The transaction is subject to definitive agreements and regulatory approvals.
BEL has been marketing Morphy Richards products in India since April 2002, positioning it in the premium home appliances category.
The nearly 90-year-old Morphy Richards brand operates in 26 countries and has a wide portfolio spanning kitchen appliances, breakfast preparation, garment care and floor care.

For Bajaj Electricals, part of the Bajaj Group, the acquisition strengthens its consumer products segment, which already includes appliances, fans, lighting, and non-stick cookware under Nirlep Appliances, alongside its EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) business.
Ahead of the announcement, shares of Bajaj Electricals closed at ₹574.45 on the NSE, down 1.56%.
The move underscores BEL’s intent to consolidate its position in India’s growing appliances market while leveraging the Morphy Richards legacy across South Asia.
