Punjab National Bank (PNB) on Tuesday (Sept 16) said the government has extended the tenure of M. Paramasivam as executive director of the bank till March 31, 2027.
In a filing, the lender said the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, through a notification dated September 15, 2025, approved the extension of Paramasivam’s term beyond his existing tenure, which was set to end on November 30, 2025. The extended term will continue until the date of his superannuation on March 31, 2027,
or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
M. Paramasivam, who assumed charge as executive director on December 1, 2022, is an agriculture graduate and veteran banker with over three decades of experience. He began his career with Canara Bank in 1990 as an agricultural extension officer and went on to serve in various leadership roles, including regional and circle head and head of the priority credit wing.
His expertise spans branch banking, credit, priority sector lending, forex, trade finance and compliance. He played a key role in launching the FRUITS portal in coordination with NABARD and the Karnataka government, and was instrumental in setting up five agri credit centres under EASE-3 norms. He has also completed a leadership development programme organised by the Banks Board Bureau and the Indian Banks’ Association.
Shares of PNB ended marginally lower on Tuesday (Sept 16). The stock has gained 5.6% in the year so far.
