New GST rates LIVE updates: A new era of indirect taxation begins today as GST 2.0 takes effect across India. The revamped structure simplifies the system into just two primary slabs of 5% and 18%, replacing the earlier four-tier framework.

He said the new GST system will accelerate India’s growth and strengthen Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Calling it a “GST bachat utsav” or savings festival, he stressed that the poor, middle class, farmers, youth, women, traders, and shopkeepers will all benefit.
