Air India Group has announced that 60 of its 180 daily domestic departures from T3 will move to Terminal 2 (T2). Simultaneously, Air India Express will shift all its domestic operations to the newly refurbished Terminal 1 (T1). However, all international flights operated by both carriers will continue from T3.
To help passengers distinguish which terminal their domestic flight will depart or arrive at, Air India has renumbered those bound for T2 with four digit codes beginning with the numeric number 1, for example if a flight is departing or arriving at T2 its flight will be number AI1737 or AI1787.

Travellers holding onward boarding passes will be eligible for inter terminal transfers between T1, T2 and T3; through checked baggage for these connections will be transferred airside without passengers needing to collect and recheck them.
A shuttle service, running every ten minutes, will link all three terminals to facilitate movement. Passengers requiring additional support or with reduced mobility can make use buggy transfers between T2 and T3.
Air India and Air India Express will notify all travellers via their registered contact information, especially those whose flights are being relocated. New bookings under the AI1XXX series will carry clear alerts about T2 operations, and online check in systems will prompt reminders about terminal assignments. Ground staff wearing specially marked shirts will be on duty at the terminals to guide passengers through the transition.
