Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, September 18, had a phone call conversation with Nepal's interim PM Sushila Karki, and extended India's support for stability in the region.
PM Modi expressed condolences on the loss of lives during the youth-led protests in Nepal recently, and also extended greetings on Nepal's National Day to Karki.
"Had a warm conversation with Mrs. Sushila Karki, Prime Minister of the Interim Government of Nepal," PM Modi said in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).
"Conveyed heartfelt condolences on the recent tragic loss of lives," he added.
Prime Minister Modi also reiterated India's support to neighbour Nepal to restore stability in the region. "Reaffirmed India’s steadfast support for her efforts to restore peace and stability," the Prime Minister wrote.
"Also, I extended warm greetings to her and the people of Nepal on their National Day tomorrow," he added.
