No injuries were reported in the incident. The fire was put out around 2 AM (EDT) on September 17.
Hindalco said the incident, which occurred at September 17, 2025 7.30 AM (IST), was communicated to the company at 10.05 PM (IST).
The company said production at the plant has been halted at the moment as it investigates the cause of the fire and determines the extent of the impact on its operations.
Hindalco said the plant is insured for property damage and business interruption losses related to such events, subject to deductibles and policy limits.
The company said it would provide further updates in due course.
Hindalco shares were down 1.05% at ₹742.25 apiece around 9.30 am on Thursday. It has gained 25.09% this year, so far.
