Ayushmann Khurrana-Sara Ali Khan’s ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’ eyes Holi 2026 release

Bollywood's next romantic comedy, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, will be released in theatres on March 4, 2026, coinciding with the vibrant festival of Holi. The Mudassar Aziz-directed movie is a spiritual sequel to the popular 2019 film Pati Patni Aur Woh, which starred Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday.

The film is set to offer a novel story featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Wamiqa Gabbi. Ayushmann will play the role of Prajapati Pandey.

Announcing the cast and the release date on X, the production house wrote: “Every husband has his own happy world... Those who tease them, but make us all laugh a lot!”

Indian film critic Taran Adarsh also shared the official Pati Patni Aur Woh Do poster on X (formerly Twitter) by writing: “Ayushmann Khurrana,

The film, produced by Bhushan Kumar and Renu Ravi Chopra, is expected to be a big hit over the Holi weekend.

Aziz had previously directed the 2019 film Pati Patni Aur Woh, starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday. The 2019 film is a remake of the 1978 movie of the same name. It focused on the life of Vedika's wife, Chintu Tyagi. Things take a surprise twist when Chintu falls in love with a young fashion designer named Tapasya.

The original Pati Patni Aur Woh film was directed by BR Chopra and released in 1978. Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha, and Ranjeeta Kaur played the primary characters, while Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Tina Munim, and Parveen Babi made brief appearances.

Meanwhile, Ayushmann is awaiting the release of  Thamma, which is scheduled to hit theatres on Diwali. The horror comedy also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles. The Aditya Sarpotdar-directed film is written by Niren Bhatt along with Suresh Mathew and Arun Fulara.

Rakul will shortly appear in Ramayana and De De Pyaar De 2. Wamiqa is simultaneously working on G2 and Bhoot Bangla.
