Cyient says $1,00,000 H-1B visa fee won't materially impact FY26 financials

IT services provider Cyient Ltd. informed the exchanges that the US government's decision to implement a one-time fee of $1,00,000 for each new H-1B visa petition, effective September 21, 2025, will not have any material impact on its financials for FY26 or in the immediate term.

The company said only six employees were deployed on H-1B visas in the previous year.

"We are local in our approach to build talent and global in our outlook, which defines our market leadership and our risk mitigation approach in today's rapidly evolving world," Cyient said in its filing.

Cyient was among a group of IT service providers, including Mphasis, Persistent Systems

, Sasken Technologies, Firstsource Solutions, and Coforge, that issued clarifications to the exchanges on Sunday evening about the likely impact of the H-1B visa changes.

Indian IT stocks wil react on Monday to US President Donald Trump's weekend order restricting the entry of certain non-immigrant workers. The new policy imposes a $100,000 fee on fresh H-1B visa petitions.

The US administration has clarified that the levy will not apply to existing H-1B visas or to petitions filed before 12:01 am Eastern Time on September 21, 2025.

On Friday, US-listed shares of Infosys and Wipro had dropped up to 4% after the announcement, though subsequent clarifications have provided some relief to the sector.
