The conversation went viral, and Karan Johar was seen apologising to Bam for letting the news slip prematurely. In a video going viral online, the filmmaker can be heard praising Bhuvan Bam when he casually mentioned, “He’s been one of the biggest YouTubers and now he’s doing a film for us as the lead actor.”
But KJo soon realised he revealed a 'big secret' and shouldn’t have said that. Soon after, he clarified and was heard apologising for ruining his surprise. “I think I f***ed up big time. I wasn’t supposed to. It was actually a big secret, and it was a big reveal at our end. I just messed up big time," he said.
When asked to name the film, he replied, “Now that I can’t say! Bhuvan, I am so sorry. I don’t know how it just came out of my mouth. Giving away Dharma secrets on this live for no reason!” he added.
According to several media reports, Bhuvan will be seen opposite Wamiqa Gabbi in the Karan Johar-produced film. The quirky romantic comedy is reportedly titled Kuku Ki Kundali, directed by Mr and Mrs Mahi fame Sharan Sharma. The actor previously worked in several web series, like Taaza Khabar and Dhindora.
In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Bhuvan Bam confirmed the news, adding that he was feeling a bit nervous about his debut film. “My aim with this film is that whoever watches it should feel, ‘The guy on the screen is one of our own.’ I always want to give them this feeling that wherever they are from, if they work hard and are dedicated enough, they can achieve anything," he said.
“It looks great from the outside that this is happening to a guy from Malviya Nagar, Delhi, who had nothing except a vision that he should entertain people. But the pessimist I am, I get scared when good things happen to me, thinking about whether I’d be able to do justice to it. So, I’m wondering how I will pull this off," the actor added.
