The court cancelled a ₹79 crore demand for the period 1966 to 2017 and a ₹41 crore demand for 2017 to 2024. The litigation pertained to historical claims for compensation on surface rights in relation to the company’s mining operations.

Dalmia Bharat Sugar stated that the court’s decision provides full relief and noted that the judgment does not involve any key management personnel or promoters. The company will continue its operations, unaffected by the litigation outcome.
Shares of Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd ended at ₹351.00, up by ₹2.70, or 0.78%, on the BSE.
