What is the story about?
The much-anticipated supernatural thriller Jatadhara has dropped its trailer today. Starring Sonakshi Sinha, Sudheer Babu, and Shilpa Shirodkar, the film promises to be an intense, spine-chilling ride, with a storyline that weaves together supernatural elements and human emotions.
The trailer was unveiled by Mahesh Babu, who is related to two of the lead stars—his brother-in-law Sudheer Babu and sister-in-law Shilpa Shirodkar. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Mahesh shared his best wishes for the team, writing, "Here’s the trailer of #Jatadhara…My best wishes to the entire team for a grand success."
The trailer of Jatadhara opens with an eerie premise: years ago, a treasure was buried under the protection of powerful tantric rituals, sealed with dark forces. Fast forward to the present, and Shilpa Shirodkar’s character is told that her house is hiding pots of gold. But, as the trailer reveals, a dire condition must be met— a sacrifice must be made during the night of the new moon to claim the treasure.
Enter Sudheer Babu, playing the role of a ghost hunter who is determined to debunk the myths surrounding paranormal activity. His character is sceptical of the supernatural, but his beliefs are tested when Shilpa’s character accidentally unleashes a deadly Pishachini, played by Sonakshi Sinha, who demands an unimaginable sacrifice. What follows is a battle between the living and the supernatural, as Sudheer’s character must confront the dark forces threatening to destroy them all.
Directed by Venkat Kalyan, Jatadhara is produced by Umesh Kumar Bansal, Shivin Narang, Aruna Agarwal, Prerna Arora, Shilpa Singhal, and Nikhil Nanda, with co-production by Akshay Kejriwal and Kussum Arora. Presented by Zee Studios and Prerna Arora, the film is set to release on November 7 in both Hindi and Telugu.
