Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) has secured a contract worth approximately ₹204 crore from Hindalco Industries Ltd for the fabrication, supply, and erection of pot shell and superstructure components as part of the Aditya Aluminium Smelter Expansion Project in Odisha.
The project aims to increase Hindalco’s aluminium smelting capacity by 200,000 tonnes per annum, and HCC’s expertise in large-scale industrial fabrication will be critical in executing this complex assignment to international standards.
"The new contract reinforces HCC's growing presence in specialised private sector projects. It also reaffirms the company's commitment to supporting India's industrial growth through innovation, technical excellence, and execution reliability," stated the exchange filing.
The company has decades of experience delivering process plants, workshops, factories, and custom industrial structures, often setting up tailor-made fabrication facilities on-site to meet highly specific project requirements.
This announcement comes shortly after HCC signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL) on September 30, 2025, to jointly pursue and execute large-scale railway and multi-modal transport infrastructure projects in India and abroad.
The partnership will focus on complex assignments, including underground and elevated metro systems, NATM tunneling, railway bridges, and large-scale EPC contracts, leveraging HCC’s construction expertise and KRCL’s rail systems and operational capabilities.
The MoU also allows for joint ventures, consortia, and other collaborative models tailored to project requirements, positioning both firms to bid for integrated transport projects under varied procurement frameworks, including EPC, design-build, and PPP models.
Shares of Hindustan Construction Company ended higher on Friday, October 10, by 3.35% at ₹28.69 on NSE.
