Pawan Kalyan’s ‘They Call Him OG’ tickets to be sold at ₹1,000 for special show in Andhra Pradesh

In anticipation of the upcoming movie They Call Him OG, which stars Pawan Kalyan, Emraan Hashmi, and Priyanka Mohan, the Andhra Pradesh government has issued a government order (GO) authorising significantly higher ticket rates.

According to the new regulations, tickets for a special ‘benefit show’ that is set for 1 am on September 25, the day of the film's release, might cost up to ₹ 1,000. Additionally, the GO sets a daily cap of five shows for this pricing, according to the Indian Express.

In addition to this late-night special, the cost of tickets for regular showings will also rise during the first run of the movie. Multiplexes and single-screen theatres are allowed to charge higher prices for this movie exclusively from September 25 to October 4 (the first ten days after its release). According to the order, single-screen tickets may cost ₹ 125, while multiplex tickets may cost ₹ 150.

Emraan Hashmi makes his Telugu debut in the film They Call Him OG, which was directed by Sujeeth and produced by DVV Entertainment (DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari). Pawan Kalyan plays the lead role of Ojas Gambheera.

The production company, DVV Entertainment, expressed gratitude to the Cinematography Minister for his support and to the Andhra Pradesh government and key political leaders, such as Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, for passing the GO.

The public's response has been varied. The sharp hike has drawn criticism from some patrons who claim that ₹1,000 is unfair and could make early shows unaffordable for families or regular moviegoers. Others, albeit at a higher cost, have expressed delight at being able to see the movie in a special showing.

The film will be released on September 25 in theatres, and fans continue to await the theatrical trailer. Although there have been reports that the trailer would be released today, it appears that technical issues are delaying it. The release of the trailer is expected to be officially announced later today.
