The round was led by existing investor Dr Arokiaswamy Velumani, founder of Thyrocare’s Family Office, along with participation from investors Balamurugan Arumugam and the Haran family office.
According to the automotive manufacturer, funds will support the company’s retail expansion, marketing initiatives, and research and development. Nearly 80% of the capital will be used to expand Simple Energy’s network of stores and service centres across India.
Founded in 2019 by Suhas Rajkumar and co-founded by Shreshth Mishra, with Ankit Gupta joining later, Simple Energy produces electric two-wheelers with deep localisation.
CEO and Founder Suhas Rajkumar said, "This investment will bolster our next phase of growth. It will help in making electric mobility more accessible to customers across India. With this influx, we are confident in scaling into both established and emerging markets – delivering India’s longest-range electric two-wheelers that meet the needs of Indian riders."
The company’s Hosur, Tamil Nadu, manufacturing facility has an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles. In February 2025, Simple Energy launched Gen 1.5 of its Simple One model with a 248 km IDC range, followed by Simple OneS in March 2025 with a 181 km IDC range.

The company claims that it has pioneered India’s longest-range electric two-wheelers and is the first Indian OEM to fully integrate its powertrain development and manufacturing. Simple Energy also said that it is the first OEM to offer an eight-year motor warranty.

Currently, the company has 53 showrooms across Bengaluru, Goa, Pune, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, and Kochi. By the end of 2025, Simple Energy plans to open 150 stores and 200 service centres nationwide.
To date, Simple Energy has raised $51 million from investors. The company plans an IPO in FY’27, aiming to raise $350 million to expand manufacturing and other growth initiatives.
