71st National Film Awards: When and where to watch the ceremony live

The 71st National Film Awards will take place in Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, on Tuesday, September 23. President Droupadi Murmu will honour the Indian films released in 2023.

Pre-show coverage, which includes the red carpet and the winners' arrival, will begin at 3:00 pm, and the ceremony will begin at 4:00 pm.

The entire ceremony will be streamed live on YouTube by the official DD News Channel, which is accessible to viewers nationwide, India Today reported.

The winners were announced by filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker at the National Media Centre press conference in New Delhi on August 1. They represent a year full of diverse cinema in terms of languages, genres, and crafts.

Kathal – A Jackfruit Mystery was named the Best Hindi Film, and Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail took home the Best Feature Film award. Vikrant Massey (for 12th Fail) and Shah Rukh Khan (for Jawan) will split the Best Actor award. Best Actress went to

Rani Mukerji for Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway.

Malayalam actor Mohanlal will be honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest honour in Indian cinema.

The Kerala Story earned Best Cinematography and Best Director for Sudipto Sen. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani

, directed by Karan Johar, won Best Popular Film.

Furthermore, Sam Bahadur, starring Vicky Kaushal, received nominations for multiple accolades in several categories, such as Best Costume, Best Makeup, and Best Feature Film Promoting National, Social, and Environmental Values. Ranbir Kapoor's Animal also received noteworthy nominations in a number of categories.
