Panacea Biotec Ltd on Thursday, October 9, said it has received an order worth ₹127.20 crore from the Central Medical Services Society (CMSS) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The order is for the supply of bivalent oral polio vaccine (bOPV).
The domestic order will be supplied via several tranches over a period of 90 to 480 days from the date of issuance of the Letter of Acceptance (LOA), which is October 8, the company said.
An autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family
Welfare, the CMSS takes care of drug procurement and distribution for all health-related programmes by the Indian government, including polio programmes. It has played a key role in ensuring India continues to remain polio-free as certified by the World Health Organization in 2014.
The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) also placed a significant order for polio vaccines on October 3. Panacea Biotec received the Letter of Award (LoA) as part of a long-term agreement to supply bOPV in 10 and 20-vial presentations to the UN agency from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2030.
The total value of the award for Q2 CY2026 and CY2027 stands at approximately $35.65 million (around ₹315 crore). The order will also be executed within this timeframe by CY2027, the company said.
Shares of the company is trading marginally higher at ₹432.05 apiece on Thursday.
