Following the government's move to reduce Goods and Services Tax (GST) on packaged drinking water from 18% to 5%, the Ministry of Railways has approved a revision in the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of Rail Neer bottles.
The 500 ml bottle will be priced at ₹9, down from ₹10, while the 1-litre bottle will cost ₹14 instead of ₹15.
This change in price will kick in from today, that is, September 22, 2025.
IRCTC becomes one of the latest companies to pass on GST cuts to consumers. The new GST regime has introduced a two-slab system, 5% and 18%, along with a 40% rate on luxury and sin goods.
Shares of IRCTC closed 0.20% higher on Friday at ₹736.90. On a year-to-date basis, the stock has fallen nearly 7%.
