ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company reported a 6.1% year-on-year (YoY) increase in its new business premium for September 2025, which stood at ₹1,761 crore, according to its monthly business update. On a sequential basis, the new business premium was slightly lower than ₹1,776 crore recorded in August.
The company’s Annualised Premium Equivalent (APE) — a key metric for new business growth — was ₹871 crore for the month, down 1.1% year-on-year, but higher than ₹722 crore in August. ICICI Prudential said its new business sum assured rose 12.5% year-on-year to ₹1,098 crore.
During the first half of FY2026, the insurer’s total new business premium stood at ₹9,456 crore, up 8.7% from the year-ago period.
The shares of the company ended 0.2% in the green on Thursday (October 9). The stock has fallen close to 10% in the year so far.
The company reported a 34% rise in net profit for the quarter ended June 30. Net profit stood at ₹302.08 crore compared to ₹225.4 crore a year ago. Total Annualised Premium Equivalent (APE) came in at ₹1,864 crore, down 5% year-on-year from ₹1,963 crore.
