Dosanjh will have to contend with the likes of Diego Vasquez (One Hundred Years of Solitude), Oriol Pla (Yo, Adicto (I, Addict)), and David Mitchell (Ludwig).
Dosanjh honoured filmmaker Imtiaz Ali in light of his nomination, writing: "It's all because of @imtiazaliofficial sir." In his post, he also mentioned Netflix India. Acknowledging the limelight, Ali, meanwhile, responded on Instagram, praising Dosanjh's accomplishment.
Furthermore, co-star Parineeti Chopra shared the news and wrote, "Proud of my team Chamkila," tagging Dosanjh and Imtiaz Ali.
The Netflix series 'Amar Singh Chamkila' explores the life and brief yet significant career of the late Punjabi folk singer, known as the "Elvis of Punjab." Chamkila was known for his bold lyrics and captivating stage presence. However, his life was brutally cut short in 1988 when he and his wife were shot dead.
The series, co-written by Ali and Sajid Ali and directed by Imtiaz Ali, debuted on Netflix in April 2024 to a great deal of praise from critics.

"I would like to congratulate the entire team of Chamkila, and also the people of Punjab, who contributed to this film. It is very much a film of that land," Ali added.
With this nomination, Dosanjh reaches a significant milestone as his work gains international televisual attention. It also emphasises how Indian content is becoming increasingly popular on global platforms.
The 53rd International Emmy Awards will take place in New York on November 24, 2025.
