First-look poster of Hanu-Man director Prasanth Varma’s Adhira out

Prasanth Varma, who made waves with his 2024 directorial Hanu-Man, is back with another exciting project. On Monday, the filmmaker unveiled the first look poster of his upcoming film Adhira. The superhero adventure movie, marking the debut of producer DVV Danayya's son, Kalyan Dasari, is a part of Prasanth Varma’s cinematic universe.

The gritty poster shows a destructive background featuring a volcano with lava flowing out from the crater. Lightning and rubble on the poster add to the intensity. Kalyan Dasari, suited in armour, is seen striking a warrior-like pose.

Meanwhile, Tamil actor SJ Suryah, who plays an antagonist in Adhira, sports a horned headgear. Both of them look fierce in their battle-ready avatars.

Sharing the poster on X, Prasanth Varma wrote, “When darkness blooms in the world, a LIGHTNING of hope emerges. Presenting Kalyan Dasari and SJ Suryah in Adhira. A New SUPERHERO from Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe.”

Adhira, directed by Sharan Koppisetty, is presented by RK Duggal and produced by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal under the banner of RKD Studios. Sricharan Pakala is the composer, with Shivendra handling the cinematography duties.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh also uploaded Adira’s poster on his X-handle. Adhira was originally announced in 2022 but was delayed. Last year, Prasanth Varma opened up about the matter in a conversation with Hindustan Times.

He revealed, “People talk like Adhira was put on hold, but we have been working hard to crack its story all this time. It was the toughest to crack out of all the films in this universe. It also took a lot of pre-production work, but we are ready now.”

Up next, Prasanth Varma will be directing Jai Hanuman, a sequel to his blockbuster Hanu-Man. Kantara fame Rishab Shetty will be playing the lead role in this film.
