The group, founded in 1945, now operates in more than 100 countries and is the world’s biggest tractor maker by volume. With a presence across businesses that account for about 70% of India’s GDP, Mahindra said it remains aligned with the country’s economic priorities.
Chairman Anand Mahindra said the group’s purpose "to help build a nascent nation" remains relevant as India seeks technological self-reliance and a larger share of global manufacturing.
CEO Anish Shah pointed to the firm’s first advertisement, which called for "enterprising individuals of all communities," as evidence of an early commitment to inclusivity and entrepreneurship.
The anniversary comes as India promotes itself as a global manufacturing hub, supported by infrastructure spending and policy incentives, but also facing global trade tensions and supply chain risks. Mahindra highlighted its continued focus on sustainability and social programmes including Nanhi Kali for girls' education and Kaabil for women's skilling.
