TORONTO (AP) — Right-hander Kyle Bradish was put on the 15-day injured list by the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday because of lower abdominal discomfort, effectively ending his season.
Bradish went 7-14 with a 4.12 ERA over 155 innings in 29 starts in his first full season following Tommy John surgery in June 2024
. He returned to the Orioles on Aug, 26 last year and went 1-1 with a 2.53 ERA in six starts.Bradish started against Toronto on Saturday, his
30th birthday, and gave up five runs and eight hits in three innings, his ninth consecutive winless outing. He was 0-5 with a 5.83 ERA after beating Boston on July 22.
He would not be eligible to return this year unless Baltimore rebounds to earn a playoff berth.
Bradish finished fourth in AL Cy Young Award voting in 2023, when he went 12-7 with a 2.83 ERA over 30 starts. Bradish in July signed a $90 million, five-year contract for 2027-31.
Yaramil Hiraldo was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk. He was 1-0 with a 1 1.3 ERA in 15 games at Triple-A Norfolk.
