The NFL fines players, coaches and owners for violating league rules whether behavior happens on or off the field. Here's a list of some of the NFL's highest fines given to teams, coaches, players and owners following the league punishing Dallas and New Orleans over fights during a joint practice:

The Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints fined $500,000 apiece by the NFL after a brawl-filled joint practice.
The NFL fined the New York Giants $200,000
for violating concussion protocol. Coach Brian Daboll fined $100,000 and rookie running back Cam Skattebo $15,000 for talking to Jaxson Dart before his concussion evaluation was complete.
Dallas owner Jerry Jones fined $250,000 for an obscene gesture during a win over the New York Jets.
Carolina owner David Tepper fined $300,000 for throwing a drink at fans in Jacksonville.
Washington fined $10 million after an independent investigation found the organization’s workplace “highly unprofessional,” especially for women.
The New Orleans Saints fined $500,000 and stripped of a 2021 seventh-round draft pick for violating league COVID-19 protocols.
The New England Patriots fined $350,000 for violating league COVID-19 protocols.
Jon Gruden of the Raiders and Sean Payton of the Saints each fined $100,000 by the NFL for not wearing masks on the sideline during the pandemic. The Raiders and Saints were fined $250,000 over the infractions. Denver coach Vic Fangio, Kyle Shanahan of San Francisco and Pete Carroll of Seattle also similarly fined by the league.
Sean Payton fined $150,000 and the New Orleans Saints fined $250,000 over Payton not properly wearing a face covering during a Week 2 game during the pandemic.
The New England Patriots fined $1 million and docked two draft picks for “Deflategate,” and Tom Brady finally serves a four-game suspension to start the 2016 season.
Tennessee's controlling owner confirms in September 2016 that Titans' ownership had been fined six figures for not conforming to the league’s majority ownership rules.
Sean Payton suspended by the NFL for one season without pay over “Bountygate” with the New Orleans Saints. General manager Mickey Loomis suspended eight games without pay, and assistant head coach Joe Vitt suspended for six games without pay. The Saints fined $500,000 over the investigation while forfeiting second round picks in each of the 2012 and 2013 drafts. Former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams suspended for the 2012 season.

“Spygate” costs then-Patriots coach Bill Belichick a $500,000 fine with New England fined $250,000 and docked a first-round draft pick in 2007 for violating NFL rules against using video to steal signals.
