Delhiites about a major change in the Delhi Metro. The chief minister said that one existing, while two upcoming metro stations will be renamed.
List of Stations to be Renamed
Pitampura Metro Station - Madhuban Chowk Metro Station
The Pitampura Metro Station, located in northwest Delhi on the Red Line, will be renamed as Madhuban Chowk. Moreover, it will be used as an interchange point after the RK Puram-Janakpuri corridor of the Magenta Line Phase 4 expansion begins services.
Proposed North Pitampura Station - North Pitampura‑Prashant Vihar Metro Station
The proposed North Pitampura Station, which is under construction, located in the QU block, will be named as North Pitampura‑Prashant Vihar Metro Station. Delhi CM Rekha Gupta stressed that this will be done to increase accessibility to the nearby residential areas.
Proposed Pitampura North Station - Haiderpur Village Metro Station
The proposed Pitampura North station will be renamed as Haiderpur Village Metro Station, Delhi CM announced, further saying that this will honour the villagers who hosted the Shresth Bharat Sampark Yatra on Sunday.

Why Delhi Metro Stations Will Be Renamed?
The Delhi chief minister said that the big change to the Delhi metro will be done to enhance passenger convenience and define clear local identities.
She said, "Haiderpur village is becoming a symbol of the new identity of developed Delhi, where tradition is honored and modern facilities are given the highest priority," adding that her government is fully committed to the comprehensive development of this area.
Moreover, Gupta further highlighted that the work on widening Max Hospital Road and constructing an underpass is also progressing rapidly, which will provide better, smoother, and safer transportation facilities to the residents of the area.
