What began as a routine morning walk turned into a terrifying incident in Bengaluru, where a woman was left with severe injuries to her face and neck after
being attacked by a pet dog outside her home. The incident took place at around 6.54 am on Monday (January 26) in Teachers’ Colony of HSR Layout. According to police, the woman had stepped out for her daily walk when the dog, owned by a local resident identified as Amaresh Reddy, suddenly lunged at her without provocation. The dog reportedly first bit the woman on her neck, knocking her off balance, before continuing to attack her face, hands, and legs. Residents who rushed out of their homes met with further danger. One person who attempted to pull the dog away was also attacked in the process. By the time neighbours managed to restrain the animal and rush the injured woman to hospital, she was bleeding profusely. Doctors later confirmed that she had sustained deep bite wounds, particularly to her face and neck, and required more than 50 stitches. She remains hospitalised and is undergoing treatment.
