Baramati: Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar’s aircraft crashed in Baramati on Wednesday morning. As per initial reports, the crash occurred while the aircraft was
attempting to land at Baramati airport. The Deputy CM was also onboard the plane that crashed in Baramati. According to visuals accessed by Times Now from the crash site, thick smoke was seen billowing as the aircraft appeared to be engulfed in flames. The plane that took off around 8 am crashed near Baramati airport near Pune .
Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar was onboard along with 2 more personnel (1 PSO and 1 attendent) and 2 crew (PIC+FO) members.
As per initial information, no person on board has survived the crash, said DGCA.
What Exactly Happened in Baramati?
Ajit Pawar was travelling to Baramati to address four public meetings ahead of the Zilla Parishad elections when the aircraft he was onboard crashed at Baramati airport. The Bombardier Learjet 45, chartered from Mumbai and operated by VSR, was attempting a landing when it crash-landed at the airport.
The aircraft, bearing registration number VT-SSK, had five people onboard, including Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, one personal security officer, one attendant, and two crew members - the pilot-in-command and first officer. As per initial information available so far, none of the people onboard are reported to have survived the crash.
