Mumbai's newly inaugurated Metro Line 3 began its services on Thursday (October 9), the day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Aqua Line metro.
The newly launched underground metro saw a busy morning with people rushing. Pictures and videos have gone viral on social media, showing a busy morning at the metro station during the rush hours. It further reflects how Mumbai people have used the newly inaugurated facility.

One of the commuters shared the video of people sitting in the metro, while also sharing a selfie of himself smiling as he travels in Mumbai Metro 3. "Had an amazing experience traveling on the engineering marvel, Mumbai Metro Line 3," he wrote in a post on X.
Another commuter wrote, "Mumbai Metro Line 3 Aqua in morning rush hour after full alignment opening on first day," as he shared the video of people standing in a long queue for checkin and ticket counter.

The travellers captured the images and shot videos of people standing in queues for check-in and ticket counters, while other pictures show people embracing the new service in Mumbai.
The metro looks clean and shiny, with people enjoying the ride. One of the users called it an "absolute surreal experience", adding that it was extremely comfortable. He wrote that the metro was 'fast and so clean that tiles shine."

However, mentioned that there are just two things missing at the metro, stressing the poor mobile network connectivity. He stated, "Hope MMRCL solves issues between Aces India & Jio, Airtel."
Another issue raised by the commuter was the need for feeder buses at the metro stations. "Each Station must get 20 AC Feeder bus," he wrote.

All about Mumbai Metro 3
Built at a cost of Rs 12,000 crore, the newly inaugurated metro line marks as a crucial link connecting business hubs, the airport, and entertainment areas. Spanning 33.5 kilometres, the Mumbai Metro Line-3 will help ensure smoother daily travel between South Mumbai and the suburbs.
Moreover, the travel fare starts from Rs 10 and goes up to Rs 70.
The fully underground metro, expected to serve over 13 lakh passengers, has connected South Mumbai's heritage spots like Kala Ghoda and Marine Drive. It has also linked major administrative centres, including the Bombay High Court and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
