The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) opened the marks verification and re-evaluation window for Class 12 students on June 2, 2026. The portal,
which was made live a day after its scheduled date, faced a breakdown hours after the link was activated. Apprising students of the number of requests being processed, the board tweeted on X, saying, “The portal is currently supporting nearly 14000 concurrent users, with over 28000 successful submissions as of 10 pm on June 2.” Acknowledging students’ feedback, CBSE made crucial improvements, including extended session time limits, to enhance user experience. “Our teams remain on constant watch to ensure a secure, reliable, and student-friendly platform,” the tweet concluded. Meanwhile, the board faced a ‘malicious attack’ on Tuesday, as some actors tried to disrupt services on its re-evaluation portal. According to the board, a denial-of-service attack caused 1.5 million hits on the platform within two minutes, and more than one lakh attempts at unauthorised file access. "While thousands of students accessed the CBSE re-evaluation portal today, malicious actors attempted to disrupt services through a barrage of cyberattacks," the board said on X. "The most recent being a denial-of-service (DoS) attack attempt, causing 1.5 million hits on the portal within a matter of two minutes and more than one lakh attempts at unauthorised file access," it added. Weighing in on the cyberattack attempts identified on the CBSE's re-evaluation portal, Srinivas L, joint MD and joint CEO at 63SATS Cybertech, the cybersecurity subsidiary of 63 Moons Technologies Limited, described the incident as a "coordinated, two-pronged operation." As of now, the CBSE’s Class 12 marks verification and re-evaluation portal is working smoothly. Students are advised to submit their requests within the stipulated timeframe, as the board might not offer an extension.
Verification VS Re-evaluation
Under the verification process, students can report discrepancies such as missing pages, missing supplementary answer sheets, missing maps or graphs, blurred pages, incorrect answer books, or cases where evaluation has been carried out against a different question paper set.
Conversely, re-evaluation allows students to opt for the reassessment of their answer scripts. Students who are dissatisfied with the marking of specific answers can opt for this facility.
