The national capital, Delhi, is all set to unveil major infrastructure and welfare projects worth over Rs 3,000 crore on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's
birthday next week. Among the great initiatives, a new flyover will be launched to ease traffic, and a new drainage master plan will be released for Delhi. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will launch the projects during a 15-day 'Seva Pakhwada' from September 17 to October 2, to celebrate PM Modi's birthday. Delhi Jal Board to launch 13 projects
The Delhi Jal Board will unveil 13 new projects, including a new sewer network in Sonia Vihar, a Master Balancing Reservoir at Palla, and an Underground Reservoir at Bijwasan.
Yamuna clean-up
To reduce Yamuna pollution and clean the river, the Okhla Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) will also be upgraded. Moreover, several other STPs and water treatment plants are also being added.
Nand Nagri Flyover to ease traffic
In East Delhi, the Nand Nagri flyover will be launched, with an aim to ease traffic congestion. Additionally, it will also reduce travel time for commuters.
Drainage master plan for Delhi
The Public Works Department (PWD) will release the Delhi Drainage Master Plan with an aim to handle chronic waterlogging and flooding, which potentially affects the city every year during the monsoon.
75 drones developed by girl students
Home Minister Amit Shah will launch 75 drones developed by girl students of Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW). Trained women personnel will operate these drones, in collaboration with the Delhi Police, for surveillance purposes.
Moreover, the BJP will also roll out 101 Ayushman Mandirs on the day of PM Modi's birthday. Amit Shah will also inaugurate five newly constructed hospital blocks, including a major expansion at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, Acharya Bhikshu Hospital, Guru Gobind Singh Hospital, and Bhagwan Mahavir Shri Dada Dev Matri Avum Shishu Chikitsalaya.
