In a significant accomplishment for the Indian educational community, three Indians were selected among the 15 finalists for the World Education Medals
of 2025. Vineeta Garg, an experienced teacher from Delhi, along with students Raul John Aju from Kerala and Ashwat Prasanna from Bengaluru, were recognised for their innovative work in AI learning and improving STEM education. These medals were established by technology leader HP and celebrate those who contribute significantly to the educational arena through the application of AI in an ethical manner. This year’s finalists for the award were announced this week, including finalists from various nations around the globe. Vineeta Garg: Educator and Innovator Vineeta Garg is a finalist for the Educators category. She has more than 20 years of experience in the educational sector. She is also the head of the EmpowerED with AI initiative, which focuses on developing multilingual AI learning material, as well as learning platforms that are gamified. This is aimed at ensuring that learning is made more inclusive. This is especially the case for some communities that are not adequately represented. Raul John Aju: Young AI Leader Only 16 years old, Raul John Aju has a position in the Students group. Raul is the founder of AI Realm Technologies Pvt Ltd. He established ThinkCraft Academy to ensure that more students could learn about AI. He is simplifying complicated concepts of AI, trying to empower students with relevant skills for the future. Ashwat Prasanna: Inclusive STEM Advocate Ashwat Prasanna, who is also a finalist for the Students category, developed EyeSight, which is an initiative that seeks to make STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education more inclusive for visually impaired students. Ashwat is making learning more accessible for visually impaired students through innovative learning solutions. World Education Medals: Bridging the Global Learning Divide World Education Medals honor people who are utilizing AI to narrow the educational divide globally. Beneficiaries of the medals will be revealed next month at the Education Leaders Forum held in London. One area of India’s influence that is observable is in the realm of AI learning, through these three innovators who understand that technology is the key to positive change in the future of learning.
