'A good work-life balance is merely a myth in India’- was the kind of reaction the internet ended up giving in unison, after a video of a US man visiting
India was shared on social media. The said video showed the foreigner spotting a woman quietly working on her laptop, at around 9 PM. The scene hardly would have surprised anyone; however, for the foreigner, the incident was simply shocking. Approaching the woman, the man asked if she was working for her organisation at 9 PM, to which she answered ‘yes’. As soon as the US man realised that an Indian employee was still working- late at night- he began to express his surprise over the matter. Stating how it’s “not normal” for him, the man asked if the woman often works this late, and the employee nodded a ‘yes’ again. The video eventually went viral on social media, as most netizens commented how working at such odd hours is ‘unfortunately’ normal in the country. Meanwhile, many pointed out how many Indian employees work according to the US or European time zones, because of which they work at odd hours. Times Now could not confirm the details and the authenticity of the post.
