What is the story about?
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced that an additional 150 medical seats for the second round of UGNEET-2026 medical and dental seat allocation.
Interested candidates can enter or modify their choices until September 9. According to an official X post by KEA, the 150 additional seats, which include 100 seats at Government Medical College, Bagalkot, and 50 additional seats at Farooquia Medical College, have been made available.
Since Government Medical College, Bagalkot is a new medical college, candidates have been provided with an opportunity to enter fresh choices for the institute during the second round of counselling.
KEA UGNEET 2026: Who Can Participate in Round 2?
Candidates who wish to participate in the second round need to log in to the KEA portal and indicate their consent. An opportunity to modify previously entered choices has also been provided.
Candidates who selected Choice 2 or Choice 3 after the first-round seat allocation, along with those who were not allotted any seat, are eligible to participate in the second round.
What Does Four Choices Mean?
Candidates should note that the four available choices carry a different meaning and should be opted for carefully according to their admission plans only:
Choice 1: Candidates who are satisfied with their allotted seat and wish to accept it.
Choice 2: Candidates who want to retain their allotted seat but also wish to participate in the next round for seat upgradation.
Choice 3: Candidates who do not wish to retain the allotted seat and want to participate in the next round.
Choice 4: Candidates who want to withdraw from the counselling process.
