New Delhi: More than 450 CCTV cameras have been deployed along key routes in Delhi to strengthen security ahead of the 18th BRICS Summit, with round-the-clock
surveillance being maintained over the movement of VVIP dignitaries. Times Now visited the CCTV control room at Tughlaq Road Police Station, where personnel are monitoring live feeds from cameras installed along routes expected to be used by VVIPs during the summit. The surveillance system has been put in place to detect any suspicious movement, vehicle or object. Police personnel monitoring the feeds can alert the main control room or contact teams deployed on the ground for immediate action. Constable Hukum Singh said the entire route is covered by CCTV cameras, allowing police to quickly identify and respond to any suspicious activity. "The whole route is covered by CCTVs. Within seconds, we can monitor and take action," he said. Delhi is on high alert amid heightened security arrangements for the BRICS Summit and possible security threats. Multiple layers of surveillance and ground deployment have been put in place to ensure the safe movement of VVIP dignitaries. The CCTV network is expected to play a key role in monitoring traffic, identifying unusual activity and supporting police teams on the ground throughout the summit.
