Fresh legal trouble may be looming for Vishal Agarwal, the father of the juvenile accused in the Pune Porsche crash case, with Pune Police preparing to
seek cancellation of his bail over an alleged violation of conditions imposed by the Supreme Court. According to senior police sources, a petition seeking cancellation of Agarwal's bail is expected to be filed before a Sessions Court on June 23. The move comes after a video surfaced on social media showing Agarwal allegedly celebrating his release on bail with family members. In the footage, Agarwal is seen dancing alongside his wife and son at what appears to be a restaurant or banquet venue while live music plays in the background. The video quickly went viral and triggered criticism online. Police claim the clip was shared through Agarwal's WhatsApp status shortly after he was granted bail.
Police Cite Bail Conditions
Investigators said the Supreme Court had granted bail with specific conditions, including that Agarwal should not engage in any conduct that could cause distress or emotional trauma to the families of the two young IT professionals who were killed in the Porsche crash.Police contend that publicly sharing a celebratory video after securing bail may amount to a breach of those conditions.
As part of the inquiry, investigators have recorded statements from two witnesses who told police they had viewed the WhatsApp status video.
Based on the witness statements and the viral footage, police plan to argue before the court that Agarwal's conduct was insensitive and potentially hurtful to the victims' families.
Officials maintain that even if the video was recorded before his release, sharing it publicly after obtaining bail could still be viewed as contrary to the spirit of the conditions imposed by the court.
