New Delhi: Indian Railways has announced changes to the operations of around 120 trains in the Delhi Division from September 11 to 13 due to operational
reasons. The changes will affect several premium, long-distance and local trains. These include the New Delhi-Ranchi Rajdhani Express, New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express, New Delhi-Sealdah Rajdhani Express, New Delhi-Howrah Rajdhani Express, New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express, Mumbai Tejas Rajdhani, New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Terminal Tejas Rajdhani Express, Vande Bharat Express and New Delhi-Howrah Poorva Express. Train operations at New Delhi Railway Station will remain affected during these three days. According to Northern Railway, the changes will include cancellation, diversion, short origination, short termination, rescheduling, regulation and changes in train terminals.
Several Trains To Run On Diverted Routes
Several premium and superfast trains will be diverted through alternate routes, including Delhi Junction, Delhi Shahdara, Sahibabad, Tilak Bridge and Hazrat Nizamuddin.
The affected trains include Rajdhani Express services running towards Dibrugarh, Sealdah, Howrah, Bhubaneswar and Ranchi.
Other major trains affected by the route changes include the Sampoorna Kranti Express, Gomti Express, Magadh Express, Shiv Ganga Express and Swatantrata Senani Express.
Some Trains To Be Delayed
Several express and intercity trains will also be rescheduled or regulated. The delays could range from 15 minutes to up to two hours.
Services such as the Grand Trunk Express, Tejas Rajdhani, Paschim Express and New Delhi-Hyderabad Express are among the trains that may face changes in departure timings.
To manage track capacity, some passenger trains will either start or end their journeys from alternate stations such as Delhi Shahdara, Sahibabad and Shakurbasti.
New Delhi Station Operations Affected
Key local services will also be affected. The New Delhi-Palwal Ladies Special EMU and several link trains will remain suspended on the designated dates.
Northern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer has advised passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and check for any changes before leaving for the station.
Passengers can check the latest train running status and updated schedules through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or by calling the railway enquiry helpline at 139. The changes will remain in place from September 11 to 13.
