and Anganwadi centres closed from September 22 to 24. The order has been issued following the directive of the District Collector. According to the district administration, the decision has been taken keeping the safety of students and children as the top priority amid the anticipated weather conditions. All government and other schools, along with Anganwadi centres across the district, will remain closed during this period.
Officials Directed Not to Leave Headquarters
In view of the possible cyclone and heavy rainfall, the District Collector has directed all concerned officials to remain present at their respective headquarters. Officials have also been instructed not to leave their headquarters without prior permission so that administrative, emergency and relief operations can be carried out promptly if required.
The district administration is continuously monitoring the developing weather situation. Various departments at the district level have also been directed to ensure necessary preparedness and remain ready to respond to any emergency.
Gajapati District Education Officer Dr Mayadhar Sahu said that, as per the District Collector's directive, all schools and Anganwadi centres in the district will remain closed on September 22, 23 and 24.
He said the decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in view of the possibility of a cyclone and heavy rainfall, with the safety of children being the primary concern.
The administration has appealed to residents to closely follow official weather updates and comply with instructions issued by the authorities in case of any emergency.
