On the occasion to celebrate Goa's 39th statehood day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has written a heartfelt letter to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant conveying
his warm greetings to the people of Goa and his blessings for the state’s continued journey towards Viksit Goa and Viksit Bharat 2047. In his letter, PM Modi highlighted Goa's vibrant culture, rich heritage, natural beauty and warmth of it's people also stressing on the aspect that the day is to remember the sacrifices of those who made for Goa's independence from colonial rule and celebrate those who have contributed in the success of glorious state. Praising initiatives like Swayampurna Goa, the PM said that it has helped in creating self-reliant villages and ensuring the last-mile delivery of welfare and development. The PM in his letter also highlighted that Swayampurna Mitras have worked at the grassroot to bridge gaps and ensure development reaches every citizen of the state. While PM Modi also said that Goa will continue to play a pivotal role in building a Viksit Bharat, CM Sawant paid his heartfelt gratitude to India's supreme leader. "Your letter on Goa Statehood Day has moved every Goan deeply. In your words, we feel the warmth of a leader who carries Goa in his heart. Your love for our land, your faith in our people, and your blessings on our journey have given Goa a strength no words can measure. The affection you have shown our State - again and again, in every visit, in every gesture, is something we will treasure forever," CM Sawant wrote on X.
