Several schools in Delhi received bomb threat messages on Monday, prompting a swift response from security agencies and emergency services. Authorities
said all safety protocols were immediately activated and comprehensive searches of the affected campuses are underway. According to Delhi Police, no suspicious object has been found so far. Bomb disposal squads, dog squads, local police teams and fire service personnel were deployed to the schools as a precautionary measure while students and staff were moved to safety. Officials said the situation is being closely monitored and investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the threats. Police said the threat messages were received by multiple schools, triggering standard security procedures. Search operations are being carried out across classrooms, administrative blocks, playgrounds and other areas of the school premises. Authorities have urged parents and students not to panic and to rely only on official information. The latest incident comes amid a series of similar bomb threat scares that have repeatedly targeted schools and public institutions in the national capital over the past two years. In February this year, multiple schools in Delhi, including Army Public School in Dhaula Kuan and Air Force Bal Bharti School on Lodhi Road, received bomb threat emails that were later declared hoaxes after extensive searches found nothing suspicious. Earlier this year, three schools in Dwarka and Paschim Enclave also received threat emails, leading to evacuations and large-scale search operations. Those threats too were eventually found to be false alarms. Delhi has witnessed a recurring pattern of hoax bomb threats targeting schools, colleges, hospitals, courts and government buildings. In one of the largest such incidents, more than 200 schools across Delhi-NCR received bomb threat emails in May 2024, triggering mass evacuations and widespread panic among parents before authorities declared the threats to be a hoax. Investigators have since worked to trace the origins of several such emails, with cyber teams frequently being involved in the probes. Security agencies say every threat is treated as genuine until proven otherwise, given the potential risks involved. Standard operating procedures require immediate evacuation, sanitisation of premises and detailed searches before schools can resume normal operations. Officials said investigations into the latest threats are underway, and further details are expected once the ongoing search operations are completed.
