Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) co-convener Ashutosh Ranka raised the issue of unrest in Manipur, saying every time they have a call with the CJP North East
team, it becomes impossible to hear the plight of fellow Manipurians. The CJP leader, who has been protesting along with fellow colleagues against the government amid the row over the SIR, said that they stand in solidarity with Manipur, hoping peace comes to this beautiful state. Taking to X, Ranka said, "Everytime we have a call with the CJP North East team, it becomes impossible to hear the plight of fellow Manipurians. They have been saying this for a while - "Bhaiyya we all feel abandoned". I am not sure what to say in such a moment, for I can't even imagine what the people of Manipur are going through." "Let me just say this - @Cockroachisback stands in complete solidarity with the people of Manipur. We sincerely hope that peace comes to your beautiful state, for you all deserve the same happiness as the rest of India," Ranka said.
In a recent development in violence hit Manipur, two youths went missing in Kangpokpi district, prompting a tribal organisation to call a 48-hour total shutdown from Thursday evening, officials said.
The two, identified as Thangginlun Chongloi (21) and Paoginlal Hangsing (20), went missing on Wednesday evening from near Taphou Kuki village, they said.
Their whereabouts remain unknown, and the circumstances surrounding their alleged abduction are under investigation, an official said.
More than 50 people have been killed and dozens of houses burnt across Tamenglong, Noney, Kamjong, Ukhrul and Kangpokpi districts since ethnic clashes broke out in the state last year in February.
