When Amit Shah Said “Nehru Ji Ka Sir Mera Jaisa tha”
It was the Monsoon Session of the Parliament this year when Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remark "Nehru’s head was like me (Nehruji ka sir mere jaisa tha)" inside the House erupted in laughter.
It happened when Lok Sabha was discussing Operation Sindoor. During the debate, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah while praising the forces, did not miss the opportunity to take on the Opposition and previous Congress-led governments for not taking strong enough actions against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.
In one reference, Amit Shah cornered Congress over India’s first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru’s leadership during India-China 1962 war.
The Home Minister claimed that the then PM Nehru gave away almost 38,000 kms of land to China, because he (Nehru) felt that it was a useless piece of land.
While mentioning this, Amit Shah said Nehru Ji’s head was "like me" and considering this, he said that the then Member of Parliament (MP) and Congress leader Mahavir Prasad Tyagi targeted his own government in the Parliament and mocked Pandit Nehru saying that his (Nehru) head was bald, so should we handover that too to China.”
This remark by Amit Shah erupted the entire house in laughter.
Lok Sabha MP asked Rahul Gandhi, "Honourable member, honourable member, this is Parliament property, not your personal one…”
Rahul Gandhi apologised saying, “I’m sorry…”. This light hearted interaction between Om Birla and LoP became another hilarious moment.
‘Priyanka… Don’t Stop Control Me…’: When Jaya Bachchan Surprised Shiv Sena MP in Rajya Sabha
A light-hearted moment between Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan and Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi grabbed everyone’s attention in Rajya Sabha, during the Monsoon Session of the Parliament when the former was questioning the government’s decision to name India’s counter-terror operation as ‘Operation Sindoor’.
As the SP MP objected to the word 'Sindoor' saying why did we keep it because the terrorists already razed it during the Pahalgam attack, she was continuously interrupted by the ruling party members.
This irked Jaya Bachchan who urged the Speaker to tell the ruling members not to interrupt her. As the SP MP was trying to put forward her point, it was Priyanka Chaturvedi who was sitting beside her.
When Jaya Bachchan resumed her speech, she wittily said, “Priyanka… don’t control me.”
This sudden remark by Jaya Bachchan came as a surprise for Priyanka Chaturvedi who responded with respectful and smiling gestures while appearing surprised at the same time. Watch it here:
‘Kya Hogaya… Khabar Toh Aani Nahi Akhbaar Mei…’: RLP MP Hanuman Beniwal’s Speech Erupts Laughter in Lok Sabha
During Parliament’s Budget Session, RLP MP Hanuman Beniwal’s speech erupted the Lok Sabha in laughter as he kept on speaking, ignoring multiple reminders of exceeding the time allotted to him.
The RLP MP, though concerned about farmers, went on and on highlighting various issues. As the lawmaker continued speaking, he exceeded times allotted to him multiple times.
At one point of time, the Speaker asked him to wrap up his address but he didn’t stop. In fact, he requested the Speaker that to allow him some more time and speeded up his arguments, joggling through policies and a lot of data, that hardly a laymen would understand.
During the entire course of his speech, every time the Speaker tried to tell him that his was exceeding the time, he requested for more saying he was about to finish.
As this continued, at one of time, the bell buzzed yet again indicating the MP that he should rest now, but the MP was just not ready to finish.
When the bell rang one more time, he shockingly asked, "Kya hogaya" in a funny tone, looking lost and telling the speaker see, “10:30-11:30 baj rahe hai, khabar toh akhbaar mei chapni nahi ab… social media se hi kaam chalega (See, it’s already 10:30-11:30, we are still debating, this won’t come in newspapers tomorrow, only social media is the option, so let me continue)”.
As he continued again, the most interesting part of Hanuman Benwal’s speech was the way he said, “Kya Hogaya”, which was an impromptu reaction to the bell that brought smile on everyone face. Watch it here:

In yet another unforgettable memory, a drama between two BJP MPs unfolded in front of the cameras in the Lok Sabha.
This happened when BJP MP Tejaswi Surya was addressing the House during Operation Sindoor debate when two BJP MPs were seen engaging in an argument over seat and space in the background.

The video showed the two MPs having an argument over a vacant seat. While one attempted to claim it, the another resisted and sat down on one of them. This encounter though short and brief, quickly went viral on social media.
