What is the story about?
With just two days left for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination scheduled on June 21, several candidates expressed confusion after receiving fresh SMS, email
and WhatsApp alerts from the National Testing Agency (NTA) regarding admit card downloads. Many students who had already downloaded their revised admit cards on June 14 were unsure whether a new hall ticket had been issued and if they were required to download it again. Social media platforms were flooded with queries from candidates seeking clarification.
One candidate wrote on X, “So the admit card we have already downloaded on 14th June is the final admit card right? Then do we need to re-download the admit card? Please reply, I am slightly confused about the SMS.”
Another candidate expressed frustration over the repeated notifications, saying, “The exam is just two days away, yet you keep sending notifications about the admit card. If you had sorted this out correctly earlier, we wouldn't be facing this situation now.”
Responding to the confusion, NTA issued a clarification through its official X handle. The agency stated that candidates who have already downloaded their admit cards for the June 21 NEET UG examination do not need to download them again.
“The SMS/Email/WhatsApp messages are primarily for those students who are yet to download their new Admit Cards,” NTA said.
The testing agency further clarified that admit cards issued for the original May 3 examination are no longer valid. According to NTA, many candidates have been allotted new examination centres in their preferred cities for the re-examination, making it necessary for students to carry the revised admit card issued for June 21.
“Downloading and printing 21st June Admit Card, once is enough,” the agency added.
The clarification comes as thousands of candidates prepare for the re-examination, with NTA urging students to verify that they possess the revised June 21 admit card and check the details of their allotted examination centre before the test day.
