Parents wanting their kids to get a Government job- is one of the most common desires among typical Desi families. There are far too many stories and instances
where parents went ‘above and beyond’ to make sure that their kids eventually got THAT ‘government employee’ stamp in their resumes. However, what about the ‘after’? If this woman is to be believed, just because one is working under the government does not mean they are content as well. Taking to social media, a woman shared about how she decided to quit her ‘Sarkari Naukri’ in the banking sector! Calling her job a ‘mentally draining and thankless job’, she shared that she eventually decided to choose her ‘happiness and mental peace’. The woman further stated that she does not regret her decision, as her mind ‘never felt at ease’. The woman did not specify what she chose next. The video, on the other hand, went viral and left netizens divided. Some lauded her decision for choosing her ‘sanity’, while some questioned the move, pointing out how not everyone has the privilege of being able to smoothly sustain themself without a job. Times Now could not confirm the authenticity of the post. “I quit my Sarkari Noukri. My mind never felt at ease. It is a mentally draining and thankless job. I slowly started hating the person I was becoming. I don’t regret my decision. Trust me, the happiness and mental peace you get after leaving a place you don’t belong is far more superior than any regret you might have,” the woman was heard saying in the clip.

“Not all heroes wear capes…some just quit jobs. So I closed the chapter that was no longer serving me,” the post read.
The video was shared on Instagram, by the handle ‘Vaani & Saavi - Content Creators’. The post was shared a while back and pulled 56K views from people.
Here’s how social media reacted:
“Nowadays everyone is resigning from their jobs to become a travel vlogger,” a user said. “I joined SBI in 2009 and I quit in 2021. I opened my own boutique and ran it successfully. I feel so happy and liberated. I can easily understand your perspective,” commented the next.
“A job is a luxury for some as they have a strong financial background or alternatives to sustain life. For some, it's a must to be working, the source of their bread even if it means to burn the life, responsibility is a big factor here! Wish you luck but your reason isn't justified, you didn't talk about the alternative you have chosen, give the full picture for the younger and aspiring new generation,” added another person.

“I can totally relate! I was an assistant manager in a government bank too, and honestly, it was so draining and exhausting. I had prepared so hard for that job, but once I joined, the toxic work culture just took a toll on me. Eventually, I left, even though I had to pay a 2-lakh bond amount. Now I’m in IT, and I’ve realised it’s never too late to start something new,” added another.
