Ukrainian officials are set to visit the United States later this month or next to discuss major arms purchases and drone production agreements, President
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Saturday. Zelenskyy, who was in the US this week for the UN General Assembly and a meeting with President Donald Trump, added that he had shared with Trump “a certain vision of what could be done” in response to Russia’s actions in the ongoing war in Ukraine. Ukraine has prepared a list of about USD 90 billion of American weapons that it wants to buy. "In addition to the large arms deal, which we call the 'Mega Deal', we also discussed the 'Drone Deal'. Technical groups are already starting to work on this deal," Zelenskyy told reporters, briefing them on his visit to the US, according to a report by Reuters. "It concerns drones that the United States will purchase directly from Ukraine." Over more than three and a half years of war, Ukraine has built a drone industry from the scratch, with hundreds of manufacturers producing millions of drones, yet it lacks the funding to expand production further. Ukraine remains heavily reliant on weapons support from its Western allies, particularly for air defence. Zelenskyy noted that the country has already deployed one Patriot missile defence system recently received from Israel and anticipates receiving two more this autumn.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin could expand the war beyond Ukraine, accusing Moscow of recent drone incursions into European airspace as an attempt to test Nato's defences.
Speaking in Kyiv after meeting former US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Zelenskyy said: "Putin will not wait to finish his war in Ukraine. He will open up some other direction. Nobody knows where. He wants that."
The Ukrainian president claimed that the Kremlin was deliberately probing Europe's capacity to protect its skies. Recent incidents included drone sightings in Denmark, Poland, and Romania, as well as Russian fighter jets violating Estonian airspace. More drones were reportedly seen
