New Delhi: India has confirmed that no call took place between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump regarding the latter’s recent
claim about Russian oil. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), in its weekly presser on Thursday, clarified that no phone call occurred between the two leaders after Trump claimed that PM Modi told him New Delhi would stop buying Russian oil. On US President Trump’s statement over purchase of Russian oil by India, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal told reporters, "... On the question of whether there was a conversation or a telephone call between Prime Minister Modi and President Trump, I am not aware of any conversation yesterday between the two leaders."
