Delhi Weather Today: Delhi is likely to witness a generally cloudy sky with moderate rainfall on Tuesday (August 4), according to the India Meteorological
Department (IMD). The weather is expected to bring relief from humid conditions, although residents have been advised to prepare for possible waterlogging and traffic congestion in low-lying areas. The IMD has forecast one or two spells of very light to light rain at most places, with moderate rainfall at isolated locations during the early morning to noon hours. Another spell of very light to light rain is expected across many parts of the city during the evening and night. The maximum temperature is expected to remain between 31 and 33 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is likely to settle between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius, keeping daytime conditions relatively pleasant compared to recent days. Winds are expected to blow from the west at 10–15 kmph during the morning, shifting to southwest at 10–15 kmph in the afternoon, before turning southerly at 10–15 kmph by evening. This comes after Delhi witnessed the warmest August night-time temperatures in three years on Monday, with the minimum temperature at the city’s base station in Safdarjung settling at 28.4 deg Celsius, as per IMD. The same station recorded the maximum temperature at 35.6 degrees Celsius, 1.2 notches above normal.
Delhi Weather Today: Waterlogging And Traffic Disruptions Likely
The weather department has cautioned that the rainfall could lead to minor traffic disruptions, an increased risk of vehicle accidents, and water accumulation on roads and in low-lying areas. Commuters have been advised to check traffic updates before leaving home, avoid routes prone to flooding, and follow official traffic advisories.The IMD has also urged residents to stay away from waterlogged areas, overhead power lines and exposed electrical installations during periods of rain and thunderstorms.
Looking ahead, Delhi is expected to continue witnessing cloudy skies with intermittent rain over the next few days, with temperatures largely remaining in the low-30s.
